Tom Walls

Born at Kingsthorpe (Eng.); age 49. Famous actor, manager and producer. Talking picture successes, "Rookery Nook," and others too numerous to mention. Leading racehorse owner - won Derby with "April the Fifth."

Tom Walls (1883 - 1949). The former policeman and jockey was the driving force behind the Aldwych farces from about 1924. Most of these were successfully transferred to the screen with Walls as director and star. When the series ended he stayed in demand as a character actor. His gambling kept him poor, but he always regarded that Derby win as his finest achievement. (see publicity still)
