Donald Calthrop

Born London; age 44. Famous London character actor. Nephew of late Dion Boucicault. First talking picture, "Blackmail." Others are "The Bells," "The Ghost Train" and "Rome Express." Recreation: riding.  

 

Donald Calthrop (1888 - 1940). He first appeared in films in 1916 but he became a fixture of British cinema from the late twenties. Notable roles include the blackmailer in Blackmail and Bob Cratchit in Scrooge. He died of a heart attack.
