Ivor Novello

Born Cardiff; age 37. Musician and composer. Wrote "Keep The Home Fires Burning" during the war. Talking pictures, "The Return of the Rat," "Symphony In Two Flats," "The Lodger".

Ivor Novello (1893 - 1951). He was a huge star in the theatre in self-penned operettas such as King's Rhapsody and Glamorous Night. During the Twenties he was the only British Male star worth anything at cinema box offices starring in The Lodger and The Rat. It seems he didn't like filming and his last was Autumn Crocus (1934).
